Introduction
Newcomers and visitors often express their amazement for the history, vibrancy and depth of community that makes Gulgong such a wonderful microcosm to be a part of.
We have so many fantastic attractions, events and courses that are underutilised because
getting the message out is often difficult.
At Bowerbird Cottage we are so proud of our town and all that it has to offer that we’ve decided to launch a new website. ‘What’s on Gulgong’ has been designed specifically as a
central place where local businesses can be listed, and events can be promoted to locals
and tourists alike.

Tired of finding out about great events after the fact, Elise Rafferty of Bowerbird Cottage is
the brainchild of ‘What’s on Gulgong’.
“It constantly blows me away the depth of musical and artistic talent we have in our small
community. Utilising the old ‘build it and they’ll come’ theory, I hope that providing a platform
for artists and venues of all kinds to promote their events, performances and galleries will
bring more tourist and community involvement in local events. It is my hope that
reinvigorating the community in this way has flow on effects for our local economy and
promotes local small businesses with a broader reach”
